The "Cardiac Bears": Record in One-Score Games

Why 2025 Was the Worst Year for Chicago’s Collective Heart Health

If you feel like you aged ten years during the last season, the stats back you up. The 2025 Bears were the definition of "playing with your food." Out of 17 regular-season games, 11 of them were decided by 7 points or less.

The good news? We actually won most of them. Under the "Ben Johnson Era" (our 2025 savior), the Bears went 8-3 in one-score games. For comparison, the 2022 Bears went 3-10 in those same situations. We’ve officially graduated from "Finding ways to lose" to "Stumbling into a win at the last second."

The "Clutch" Meter (2025 Season)

  • Games decided by <3 points: 4-1
  • Fourth Quarter Comebacks: 5 (A franchise record!)
  • Blowout Wins (>14 points): 2 (We don't like to make it easy on ourselves).

The Takeaway: The 2025 Bears didn't just play football; they performed high-stakes cardiovascular tests on the entire city of Chicago.
